A trench coat is a must-have of any female wardrobe. We know what it was initially designed for: it protected from wind and rain, cold temperatures and nasty weather. But today it became a work of art and fashion, which can be easily used as a great style decoration. What do you think of that?
What’s the Length?
This season you should choose maxi coats from Emilio Pucci, Undercover, Fausto Puglisi as well as Dries Van Noten. However, it doesn’t mean that you should refuse from standard classical length offered by Kenzo or Lanvin or get rid of your midi length.
Animal and geometric prints are the most popular this season. They are common for the outdoor clothing, as well as bags, dresses and skirts. Badgley Mischka chose plaid, Eg. Balmain gave preference to multicolored vertical striped, while Emilio Pucci, Vivienne Westwood, as well as Fausto Puglisi decorated clothes with abstract, supernatural and astronomy prints.
They are unbelievable! For the new season pick your own cape-trench coat and any type of cloaks that can be combined in one look. A great example of Fall/Winter 2015-2016 is Dolce & Gabbana cape with its embroidery, floral prints and very bright colors. Kenzo chose a dense fabric that defends from wind and rain. Versace gave preference to cloaks with red and yellow flowers, and Salvatore Ferragamo created knitted blankets with holes for head and neck.
Judging by the colors used in F/W collections it is really hard to say that it is going to be a cold season this year. What do designers suggest? They have already created a wonderland of orange and green, yellow and red. Though these colors are common for S/S seasons, they can’t be called out-of-time or date in collections of Donna Karan or Christian Dior, Fausto Puglisi or No.21. Don’t forget about classics! Gold, milky and beige are more specific for cold months of the year.
What materials are used for creating the most popular collections? It’s really tough to name one or two. Why? Fashion uses all textures and fabrics and knows no borders. This year Akris suggested artificial and very thin wool, while creating translucent trenches. Chanel chose plaid and tweed as it always does. Alexander Wang, Carven and Mugler, as well as Hunter Original gave preference to leather. And Alberta Ferretti surprised with knitted trench coats.
This season the decoration elements are multiple and various. Some of them have already been used in 2014-2015; others are pretty new (imitations of cracked glass on trench coats). Such brands as Lanvin, Burberry Prorsum, Emilio Pucci chose simple, but great decorations: they opted for suspended brushes and unfinished seams.
If the fashion of 70’s is what you really adore, pay attention to new collections by Christian Dior and Saint Laurent. They made their clothes really bright, stating it’s high time to wear coats with lurex. There’s no doubt that this clothing will find true fans and buyers, because of the impressive and stylish look it can create.
Choose your style and make everyone envy you!
